Carson the Friendly Ghost

This morning I was in the kitchen and Carson was in his room. He started getting quiet, so I went to go check on him and this is what I saw, coming down the hall on his knees.... He was being very quiet, so I thought he might be scared, but when I lifted up the blanket, he was smiling! I couldn't tell if he could get the blanket off or not, but I think he could see through the holes and was just curious about moving around with it over him. Then, of course, he didn't want me to take it off. Jan, if you're reading this, your blanket is still getting lots of use!

Experimental Faces

In the last couple of weeks, Carson has been making this new face where he squints up his eyes when he smiles. It is pretty funny, and I would be lying (sp?) if I said I didn't encourage it. Today at breakfast I snapped as I encouraged so you all could see it too.

A couple more NYC pics...

OK, this is a funny story. The first night we were in NY, we ate at
Juniors. (Shout out to Sarah and Tommy, who introduced us to the best cheesecake EVER!) We were sitting at a window right near an empty patio. All of a sudden, we see video cameras and hear singing. Soon, this crew of smiley-face-sign holding people in Walmart getup start singing and dancing down the alley towards us. I was thinking, good grief! I knew this was Broadway, but do they really tap their way down the alleys with soundtracks playing? It turns out it was a promo and interview with a local TV station for an off-broadway musical called "Walmartopia" in which an employer sues the company or something. Let's just say the only lyric I heard was "The prices are low, but our wages are lower..." But it was fun to get a front-row seat!
We laughed. A lot.
This was the lobby of our hotel: Milford Plaza. I highly recommend it if you are ever in the area. Don't judge it by the couches.

Start spreadin' the news...

That's the first lyric in the song "New York, New York," in case you didn't know. And I just got back! My mom and I had a wonderful trip and managed to squeez in quite a bit. My favorite part were the two wonderful broadway shows we saw: Tarzan and Spamalat...oh yes, I said Spamalot. We also met Ann Curry on our NBC studios tour! She chatted with mom and I for several minutes since we were from Oregon and so is she. My mom was a real trooper and got used to the city really quickly. We had so much fun! I missed Carson an awful lot, but I brought him back a little piece of the city.

There really is only one good way to cool down. Even if you have to taste the chlorine.

My New Favorite Picture (this week)

What I love is that instead of me always placing Carson in a pose I want him in for a photo, he is now getting himself in all kinds of funny poses for pictures. He crawled into this IKEA box all by himself, and stayed there for several minutes (which, I've already pointed out is equal to hours in the attention span of a 10-month old) and I can tell by his mouth and eyebrows that he was talking away when the shot was taken.

I'm so in love, it's ridiculous.

The Moment We've Been Waiting For

Sunday was also our first opportunity to take the first picture of the three baby boys together. We've been excited about these three boys for so many months, it was great to get them all together.

It all started with everyone being very civil and doing their own thing. Carson even did his signature move and petted Henry's head.
But soon all heck started breaking loose as Henry got tired of all the pictures, Ethan decided he wanted Henry's blanket, Carson wanted to use Ethan's head for leverage to get up......and Uncle Mike's hands got VERY full!

Ethan Bites Back

Whenever the "big" boys get together (as they are now the big boys compared to Henry), Carson seems to poke and pet Ethan to death. He especially likes to put his finger in Ethan's mouth.

Looks like Ethan finally got tired of it! "Take that, Blondie!"
