Happy Girl

Ever since college I have loved magazines. I love reading in general, and it extends past my English lit degree to the trivial pleasures of reading fresh-off-the-stand magazines. Currently, I have a subscription to 4 magazines, and would have more if I had the $$$. I wouldn't say these four areas summarize me completely, but they provide a very genuine glimpse into the mind of Jen. Today, something happened that has never happened before. They ALL came on the SAME day! I'm a happy girl. (This is especially good timing as today at lunch I finished reading A Thousand Splendid Suns and it was so intense and depressing that I either needed some Tina Fey or I was going to have to re-read some early Harry Potter stuff.) Here's my 4 mags: Creating Keepsakes (scrapbooking), Simple and Delicious (easy recipes), Entertainment Weekly and Parents. (I also receive a free subscription to Parenting--I forgot about that one, but it is the same idea.)

We get free subcriptions with the My Coke Rewards points. To be honest, they just pile up becuase I don't have time to read them...but it's still exciting to open the mailbox and have a new magazine!

I lurve me some mags, especially if they're free! Oh, the pretty pictures. Oh, the articles that are brief enough that I can read them before someone breaks something or needs something or tries to be "helpful" (like filling the dog food bowl to the brim and then ordering the dog to eat repeatedly in a very loud voice which freaks the dog out). :)

Right now we're getting Home, Country Living, Better Homes and Gardens, The Tv Guide (a.k.a. "The Guide" in this household), U.S. News and World Reports, and Fitness - all for free! Yay for online surveys (if you're interested when other free subs become available, I can let you know). I also get Taste of Home and MacWorld and Ranger Rick (the later two notsomuch for me). I miss getting Sunset, Cooking Light, Rachael Ray, and Brain, Child but don't feel like paying for them.
