We flew into John Wayne airport in Orange County, and this is what you see as you are driving out of the airport. We got a rental car, which was worth every penny for the independence and not having to move Carson's carseat for the entire week. Soon after I took this picture, I got texts from Portland saying it was snowing. Yeah...not really regretting our choice at that point!
We met up with Jaime and her 2 girls, then went to Sarah, Kipp and Tanner's house. They live near the beach, so we had our #1 favorite "can't get it in Oregon" food: Pick Up Stix at a beach picnic followed by a bonfire and s'mores.
The Phoenix girls were freezing their heinies off. :) Well, Jaime was.
Kipp grew a mustache for the Vegas trip. To look older? You are legal now, buddy. Tanner had his Elmer Fudd hat to keep warm. Maybe Jaime should get one?

Sarah got Carson a bunch of welcome gifts, including these matching PJ's for the boys! They were pretty stinkin' cute.
