The situation in Haiti is far from over. The news coverage is slowing, and the focus is lessening. But what if you lived there? What if people were bringing their broken children to you, day after day, begging you to stop the pain, heal the enormous burn, amputate the crushed foot?
Please be reading Tara's blog. She's one of my new best friends, she just doesn't know it yet! The best thing about Tara's blog is that she is speaking the truth about the horror, but when you finish reading it, you aren't left depressed and helpless. You are left with a feeling of hope: thankful for the opportunity to know and understand some of the situation, and empowered by the ability to pray and give. I hope you will do both.

I have struggled with this as well, as I post all the fun things we did in Orlando whilst devastation was occuring in Haiti. I'm doing it for our family, but I am SO GLAD that there is something we can do. I am going to get on this once the kids are asleep today. One little thing that hopefully helps a lot.
Wow. It is a HUGE eye opener for me.(Reading Livesays in Haiti) The struggles during my day are the struggles they dream they could have. And we don't even realize it. We have all been so blessed/spoiled.
You're right, it's seems impossible to think of anything else.
Your blog has been a huge blessing to me in a new journey that our family has begun. I read you often and also have begun reading many of your friend's blogs as well.
The short story is that we have been mulling over adoption/foster care for a LONG time, but the situation in Haiti along with other events and confirmations from the Lord have prompted us to move ahead with efforts to adopt from Haiti. Our hearts have been there for so long as we have an 8 year old niece adopted from there as an infant.
